Our local Salvation Army's are low on troops. Would you be keen to be a volunteer?
The Salvation Army in Southland is calling out for more volunteers to keep helping people in the community.
Captain Annette Bray, based at Invercargill's Salvation Army, said if people had just one or two hours to help out it would take the pressure off the rest of the crew.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
