Whangarei Film Society AGM and first film for 2025

Please join us for the WFS AGM and 2025 Season Launch on Thursday, February 27th at 6pm.

It will be held at Forum North, 7 Rust Ave Whangarei in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre.

There will then be a short interval where people can renew their subscriptions. The annual membership fee for 2025 remains the same at $30 and includes one free ticket.

People also have the option to pay their membership fee online. Go to whangareifilmsociety.org

We will then show our first film of the 2025 season, Conclave.

Members from 2024 who attend the AGM will be able to see the film for free.

Please note: There will be one screening only for the evening at 7:15pm. There will NOT be an 8pm screening.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.

While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.

And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
