Relay For Life Northland
Covid-19 update: The good health of our all our guests at Relay For Life is our top priority. We’re in contact with local health authorities and are following the latest advice from the Ministry of Health. At this stage, the Ministry does not propose altering arrangements for public events. However, we are asking the following people not to attend Relay For Life:
- anyone who does not feel well, particularly if you have flu-like symptoms like a cough, high-temperature or shortness of breath;
- anyone who has visited mainland China, Iran, Italy or the Republic of Korea in the past 14 days.
We’re taking additional measures at the venue to ensure the good health of everyone who attends. We’ll also be reminding everyone at Relay to follow good hygiene practices. Guests are also encouraged to use their best judgement to determine what is appropriate for their own health and wellbeing.
If there are any changes to Relay For Life, we will communicate these on our Cancer Society Facebook page.
We’re looking forward to delivering fun, safe community events

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
