Water quality testing at Otuihau / Whangārei Falls shows this water needs some help! Most bacteria in the water come from livestock and wild birds. Regional plan rules are coming which will require riparian fencing upstream of the falls. We’re working to improve the water quality by contributing towards costs of stream fencing and planting in this catchment. Police are working to locate Steven Te Maru Walters, who has a warrant for his arrest and is wanted by Police.
Walters, 40, is wanted by Police in relation to breaching his release conditions and is known to frequent the Whangārei area. It’s believed he is actively avoiding Police.
