Northland Regional Council Long Term Plan
Morning everyone on this wet morning. I'm one of your local regional councillors and wanted to make sure that you know about our long term plan consultation. Yawn you say. Well, there's some pretty important stuff in it, including our proposals to spend more to improve water quality, to manage pests and on flood infrastructure.
What we're proposing will cost around $67 per rating unit, so we need to know if you agree with our proposals or not! We've got Have Your Say events happening around the region - there are a couple in Whangārei and I'm happy to come to a venue in Hikurangi if someone wants to set one up! Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
