Forest & Bird: Monthly Nature Based Speaker - Jordy Wiggins on Waste Minimisation
This month Jordy Wiggins from the Hastings District Council Waste Minimisation Team will be speaking at our monthly meeting.
Jordy is on a mission to get people thinking differently about waste. She breaks down the big issues and will shed insight on how much is heading to landfill, the problems with food waste and methane, and whatโs working (and not working) with kerbside recycling. Jordy will also talk about product stewardship, the New Zealand Waste Strategy, and how we can all be part of the solution.

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? ๐ฐ๐ฒ
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if itโs approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
