1.22pm: Update on snow impact on roads
TAIHAPE Rd remains closed today and will be closed overnight, from the Kaweka Forestry headquarters to the end of the road on the Rangitikei side. Residents are able to get to their homes beyond the closure however there is no access at all beyond the last home. The closure points are being manned during daylight hours.
POHOKURA Rd is closed from Lake Opouahe (Tutira) to Waitara Rd.
PUKETITIRI Rd is closed to all but residents at Hawkston Road intersection because of slippery surface driving conditions β light snow covering. The close point is being manned during the day.
NZTA's website continues to show that the Napier-Taupo Rd (SH5) is closed.
All road users are being advised to take extra care on all roads due to the winter conditions.
