On a recent hot day I did my large amount of shopping at Countdown and got to the counter where I got a serve for not bringing my bags. Never mind - they were in the boot of my car and I didn't feel like going and getting them. I would just put everything in the trolley after they'd been scanned and paid for, and wheel out all the loose groceries to my car and pack them there.
Checkout lady not happy about that. Wanted the bags or I could buy some more. So a futile discussion ensued about how the plastic shopping bags were not single use but very useful indeed, but all the meat packaging and wrapped cucumbers and so on were single use packaging. Ah the customer is never right. So I won't be back.
Then today I get a card in my letterbox from Countdown about Weetbix and it had been through the Post Office so there wouldn't be non-delivery through it being junkmail and it was wrapped in single use plastic!! My last dealings with Countdown is to phone them on Monday and cancel my one card.

Irritation from cold wind and water exposure causes the bone surrounding the ear canal to develop lumps of new bony growth which constrict the ear canal. Where the ear canal is actually blocked by this condition, water and wax can become trapped and give rise to infection.
Most avid surfers have at least some mild bone growths (called exostoses). The condition is progressive, making it important to take preventative measures early, preferably whenever surfing. The widespread use of wetsuits has allowed people to surf in much colder waters, which has increased the incidence and severity of surfer's ear for people who do not properly protect their ears.
Prevention includes avoiding activity during extremely cold or windy conditions and keeping the ear canal as warm and dry as possible preferably by ear plugs. We can help by keeping the ears free of wax and other debris and fitting you for custom-made ear plugs specially designed for swimmers and surfers, click here to find out more.
