For all those interested in Hawke's Bay history the Knowledge Bank is holding a fund raising event :
Popular local historian Michael Fowler will talk on Thursday March 21st at the Havelock North Community Centre (Magdalinos room seats 250). Doors open at 5.30pm, Michael will speak from 6 till 7pm, the subject being his “favourite stories. Tickets are $10 and can be obtained from the Knowledge Bank - ph 8335333 (Linda Bainbridge)
Also Saturday March 23rd, 10am till 3pm there will be an open day (free) at Stoneycroft, Omahu Road - will include the Genealogist group as well and volunteers will be there to show visitors around - tea, coffee etc available and various publications will be on sale - including photos and articles
We'd love to see you at either or both events

Strong and unstable cold southerlies continue to affect the east of the North Island during today, bringing periods of rain with some heavy falls until early this (Monday) afternoon. The heaviest rain is expected about Hawkes Bay north of Tutira where a Warning remains in force.

This Watch is for the possibility of rainfall accumulations approaching warning amounts for the remainder of Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.

Area: Gisborne
Valid: 9 hours from 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday
Forecast: Periods of rain, with some heavy falls. Rainfall accumulations may approach warning amounts.

Area: Hawkes Bay from Tutira southwards
Valid: 7 hours from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday

Great for a hillside where you have lots of trees but no real access to use for you and your family
PLUS its so lovely and cool in the middle of the day and the birdsong is awesome

There's lots of options for volunteers including doing work at home - work at Stoneycroft House the home of KB - scanning, typing, assessing, etc etc.We welcome visitors to Stoneycroft to see the place working - we're friendly and love the work - hours are your own to suit - 1 or more a week or a month - your choice - and you'll be helping preserve the history and the memories of the people of Hawke's Bay for the future.
