‘The ultimate connector’: Waikato leaders salute Jim Bolger

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

To most New Zealanders he was a prime minister - but for many in the Waikato region, Jim Bolger was best known as the prime mover for a new era of racial reconciliation.

Bolger, who died on Wednesday at the age of 90, was the country’s leader at the time of the formation and signing of the landmark Waikato-Tainui Raupatu agreement in 1995, in which the Crown formally acknowledged the wrongful confiscation of 1.2 million acres of Waikato land, with a Treaty settlement of $170 million.

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
