Well, Placed an online order to be picked up on 01/04. Picked it up and it was short $102.00 of items that were out of stock (items I asked not to be substituted) That is o.k, however, now it is time to get My money back.
I go online & am advised via the computer generated question answerer that a refund will happen overnight after I receive My invoice. Invoice arrived 12.27am 02/04 so I expect $$$ in account this morning. But NO.

I ring the 0800 and after 1hr 55 minutes wait I get told it may take up to 10 days to be my account!

So, when I tell the genius on the phone "so what, I cannot buy any food for up to 10 days?" He replied "sorry for the inconvenience"

WELL, I will not starve, but what a poor attitude on behalf of Countdown!!!

I WILL now be bulk buying, going many different shops everyday so I can have what I want/need. Their crappy attitude has now forced Me into doing what is against the rules/suggestions.

I originally did not go overboard & buy up all and sundry. (wish I did now though)

If they ain't got the items, why are the allowing them to be purchased? I only went to the Bridge st as Dinsdale did not show the items as available for sale. (well done Dinsdale).

Oh, and on another note: day 5 now since applying for their "priority assistance" but no word.
I guess there assistance is about prioritized as there refunds!

Dear concerned citizen,

It’s important that we all try and shop safely as we unite against COVID-19.

Here’s a few things we should all now do, that will help slow the spread of the virus:
• send one person from your household to do the whole shop
• be aware that stores will limit numbers to help you keep 2 metres away from others
• be kind to essential workers, and others you’re sharing the shop with
• come with a list so you can get in and out as quickly as possible
• only touch what you want to buy
• if you like, take a soapy towel in a small container to wipe down trolley or basket handles etc
• keep 2 metres away from others, including staff. They need to keep safe too!
• use payWave if you can, not cash
• bag groceries away from others if you can
• take out produce when you get home, and wash first in soapy water to protect against the virus, then rinse to remove any soap residue wipe down packaged goods with a soapy clean towel, then dry
• wash your hands before and after you shop.

Can I bring people in my household with me to buy essential supplies?
You should dedicate one person per household to be the shopper. This is the safest way to get essential supplies, as it reduces the number of people who are out, and helps stop the virus from spreading.

Leaving online shopping to those who need it most
• If you are healthy, or aged under 70, you should go to the supermarket to do your shopping. This leaves online delivery slots free for those that need them most.
• If you’re a parent on your own with children or over 70, move to online shopping if available. This is important for the safety of your children and others – especially essential service providers.
• If that’s not possible, reach out to nearby friends, family or neighbours who can assist you with the shopping and get it to your doorstep. Your local community may also be able to assist, or you can contact your local store – some are putting special systems in place to help.

Thank you
If we all do our bit we’ll get through this. Thank you for working together and staying home. We can, and must stick with it.

Northern Waikato now has an emergency centre to help with wellbeing during the coronavirus pandemic.
Hamilton City Council and Waikato District Council joined forces to operate a North Waikato Combined Emergency Operations Centre.

Staffers are already helping with community welfare needs, identifying at-risk people, and working with government agencies and local support agencies, a statement said.

"The creation of these combined centres is one way we can fine-tune our response to ensure that most resources can be directed to those who are vulnerable and in need, as efficiently as possible," said Merv Balloch, one of four shift controllers.

"Between the two councils we are sharing operations, logistics, communication, intelligence and planning functions, as well as setting up separate welfare teams for each Council area ... There's a lot to be done, but the combined approach is another step on the way to getting through this difficult time."

"You might feel safer wearing a mask, and you can do that if you want to, but COVID-19 isn't airborne. It's spread by droplets, which means you're most likely to catch it by touching something with a droplet on it (and then touching your face). If you choose to wear a mask or gloves, you still need to wash your hands carefully and often."

The people who need protective equipment are those working with confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19, the ministry said. You can find information on protective gear, including how and when to use it, on health.govt.nz/covid-19 |the Ministry of Health website|.

Place prepared eggs into the pot with the onion skins.

Cover with water so that it is 1” above eggs. ...

Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Check eggs for desired color.

When ready, carefully remove eggs.

Another way is to spread quite a bit of flour in a dish, then press an egg into the flour to make several molds. Make marshmallow according to directions on Google or recipe book, & pour into each flour mold. When set, join each half 'egg' with another, using jam or icing. Dust off egg. Return flour to its container - it's not harmed by use.
