South Waikato District Council will hold a workshop to discuss problems at Putāruru’s Blue Spring Te Waihou Walkway but won’t be closing access to tourists flocking to the site.

First term councillor Zed Latinovic has tabled a notice of motion asking his colleagues to support his calls for a comprehensive review of how the walkway is managed after rising visitor numbers were creating “material and escalating risks” at the popular site.

Te Aroha man Matthew Liddle’s future hangs in the balance after he suffered a major aneurysm on 26 January, bleeding rapidly due to the blood thinners he took for his underlying heart condition.

Sallies’ social housing apartments plan for Te Rapa

Thirty five two bedroom and 18 one bedroom apartments will be built at the site of the former Te Rapa Motor Inn, which was sold for $5 million last June to Te Rapa Hamilton Development Limited.
