I encouraged two friends to go to the vegan cooking class they were running (which was advertised on a FaceBook page). They turned up this (Tuesday) morning (one of them came all the way from Rotorua!!) at 11 am to find the class had been cancelled due to insufficient numbers. The House had their contact numbers but were far too lazy to contact the people enrolled. Very, very poor service. I strongly suggest people think very, very strongly before booking for any future classes at that House. They need to up their game. See www.eventfinda.co.nz...

Bringing the show to life will be one of New Zealand’s most experienced and talented directors, David Sidwell. He’s assembled a cast of seasoned local performers and musicians who are all itching to get back on stage. He’ll be backed up by Music Director, Nick Braae and Choreographers Sonja McGirr-Garrett and Alexis Holmes.
Chicago opens at Clarence St Theatre on June 25th and runs for two weeks. Tickets are on sale at Ticketek.

EarthDiverse is pleased to announce its Term 2 course “Understanding Islam”, which provides a detailed and objective introduction to the history, texts, beliefs and practices of the Islamic faith. This course meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm beginning on 11 May. Both in-person and on-line distance-learning options available via Zoom. Our second Term 2 course is an in-person course only offered in Te Awamutu, entitled “Contemporary Belief and Practice.” This course meets on alternate Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm beginning on 19 May.
