If you love talking to people, are computer savvy and like organising, then this is the role for you.
We are looking for someone to assist our existing volunteer coordinator with her duties on a casual basis, about a week or so every month OR two weeks at a time every 2 months.
Your main responsibilities will be taking calls from residents in the Cambridge community who require transport to medical appointments in Hamilton and coordinating with our volunteer driving team to arrange the journey. Your key role would be to match the needs of residents to the availability of our volunteer drivers.
This role can be done from home and we will provide a mobile phone to take calls on.

Do you have a rental property or manage rentals? This one is for you!
Methamphetamine - or "P" - is becoming more common everyday. We come across it more regularly and it is now a big problem for those in the residential property market.
Meth is a harmful, chemical based stimulant. Generally people smoke it through little glass pipes. When smoked or manufactured indoors, the harmful chemicals leech into the walls and materials. These chemicals then make their way from the walls into the bodies of the people inside - not nice stuff! This can cause adverse cardiovascular, respiratory and dermal effects.
So what do we recommend? Treat it the same as you would with any other aspect of property management. Do a meth test before tenants move in. Do regular meth tests when completing house inspections (you need to allow for this in your contract) and complete meth tests when they leave.
If you can prove your tenants have been consuming or manufacturing P in your house, you have grounds to have them evicted and if needed, evidence to support a civil claim to the tenancy tribunal for damages.
Have a bit of a look on the internet for different suggestions about how to word your tenancy contracts and what to do if you do detect meth in your rental.

There was much joy and jubilation Hamilton receiving $272 million interest free from the Government $1 billion infrastructure fund. The current debt is $434 million; finance (interest) cost is $21,819,000 (nearly $22 million per year). The increase of $272 million will push the debt to $706 million with additional cost of $27.2 million per year to pay back the $272 million takes the annual interest (finance) cost to $41.019 million and pushes the net interest–cost-to-total-revenue to 20.78%.

If Ratepayers objected to the recent “Free” parking proposal, imagine the reaction when they receive their rates to fund this 20.78% interest–cost-to-total-revenue plus any other ‘Dreams are Free’
Hamilton is in deep do dos.
Austerity is the order of the day – cut one’s cloth…the alternative will be to price people out of their homes, it has happened overseas the conditions are the same.
