But a fast-rising toll of death and serious spinal injuries is now forcing leaden-footed authorities to take action. Waikato Regional Council says warning signs installed on the Raglan footbridge after the death of Richard Keremeta, 16, are regularly ripped down, and have to be replaced.

Talking to several people I have found this isn't a rare happening but actually more common annoyance than expected with several other stories of similar trouble. These work vehicles and similar vehicles have tyres which cost several hundred dollars to replace and it seems a fair amount of vandalism is stabbing the tyres where the only repair is full tyre replacement. Please keep your eyes out for these lunatics and lets put a stop to more destruction of others lives as this problem is made easier by so many hiding on their computers while the world passes them by.

If you love talking to people, are computer savvy and like organising, then this is the role for you.
We are looking for someone to assist our existing volunteer coordinator with her duties on a casual basis, about a week or so every month OR two weeks at a time every 2 months.
Your main responsibilities will be taking calls from residents in the Cambridge community who require transport to medical appointments in Hamilton and coordinating with our volunteer driving team to arrange the journey. Your key role would be to match the needs of residents to the availability of our volunteer drivers.
This role can be done from home and we will provide a mobile phone to take calls on.
