Hamilton Book Month on throughout August

Hamilton Book Month is on throughout August and we are running five workshops. There's Scriptwriting 7 August (Alex Lodge), Writing Children’s Fiction 14 August (Melinda Szymanik Children's Author), Speculative Fiction 21 August (Gary Nelson), Memoir Writing 24 August (Witi Ihimaera) and Poetry Writing 28 August (Elizabeth Kirkby-McLeod). Each three-hour workshop with morning or afternoon tea is led by an experienced presenter and specialist in the genre and will provide you with valuable information and hands-on writing tasks. The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
