Please keep yourself safe around power lines during the stormy weather.
Wild weather around Waikato is causing a number of outages across the region with flying debris and vegetation a major cause.
•Residents affected by the outages can stay updated on current unplanned outages on the WEL Networks website.
•If you see a downed power line stay away. Call 0800 800 935 to report an incident.
•Do not try to remove vegetation from lines or try to move lines. Stay away, call us.
•In an emergency call 111.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
