If we all take care of those next door to us, we could grow a bond of strength in the Community that could: prevent crime; lessen loneliness; create safety for the children; increase morals by understanding of decency & thoughtfulness toward others; and grow understanding of personal welfare and cultural needs; just to name a few things.
When I was young, people would be like that...small towns/community groups would look out for one another. Houses could be left open and nothing would be stolen. All that's gone now and some would say could never return (a dreamers age gone by), but I still think we could improve our communities by helping one another more often. Giving of self for another often improves our own happiness and well being.

The sun is out, the grass is dry and you've fired up the mower. Your neighbour's half is looking a little overgrown, do you do theirs too?

If you were around Davie's Corner on Wednesday, you might have noticed the police presence.
A man armed with a knife hopped into the back of a district nurse's car and demanded money. She managed to escape into a nearby dairy, where she was helped by owner Sejal Rathod (pictured).

A big Hamilton home builder has shut down because there wasn't enough work in the pipeline.
And others in the construction sector are also noticing the difference, with one company having no active builds for the first time in 20 years.

Selwyn and Dianne June established the Waikato Hauraki Conservation Fund at Momentum Waikato with a significant donation in 2021, with the intent of creating a long-term source of funding for conservation work anywhere in the Waikato.
They invite the public to donate and grow the Fund’s ability to support local predator control and other conservation projects by volunteers and landowners.
“We want to help people get active and achieve things in protecting the environment,” says Selwyn.
“The practical purpose of the Conservation Fund is to remove the barriers a group may face in carrying out a conservation activity,” says Dianne.
