Nostalgia Night - 30th Sept, Hokitika Regent Theatre
Looking for a fun night full of local Hokitika flavour and memories? The Westland Industrial Heritage Park have gathered a collection of footage from 1864 through until the 1990’s showing local talent, events and shows.
Were you at “It’s in the bag” or the Sesqui Centennial concert at the Regent Theatre which involved members from the Hokitika Savage Club and the Hokitika Dramatic Society?
Did you work at Seaview Hospital or attend the 125th Anniversary Reunion?
Remember what the Wildfood’s Festival used to be like back in the 90’s?
Have you ever seen heli-logging up close?
All this and much more will be on show on Saturday 29th September at Hokitika’s Regent Theatre. Bar opens at 6.30pm, show starts at 7pm.
This Nostalgia Night is being organised by the Westland Industrial Heritage Park in association with the Hokitika Lions Club and Hokitika/Westland RSA as a fundraiser. It will help fund the restoration of the very rare 1914 World Ward 1 Sunbeam Rover Ambulance in time to commemorate the end of the war in 1918.
Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?
The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.
Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.
We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
-
9.3% For. Self-service is less frustrating and convenient.
-
43.5% I want to be able to choose.
-
47.2% Against. I want to deal with people.

If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?
