All residents should run their cold taps for 5 minutes prior to using the tap water. Flush any appliances e.g. coffee machines, that are connected to the water supply. Hot water cylinders and header tanks may need to be drained and refilled.
We are in the process of re-filling and chlorinating the main reservoir that supplies Featherston, and will likely have this online early next week. While this is brought back online we will continue to sample the water supply to ensure the supply continues to be safe to drink. The work to bring the reservoir back online won’t have an impact on the water supply.

The most popular options are the quick-and-easy triple fold, or folding the outer edges towards the centre before folding in thirds, to create a plusher, more spa-like look. But what do you do? And who knew folding towels could be so controversial?

The Notice needs to remain in place until testing confirms the water is safe, following the major breakage to the main on Friday. Yesterday evening two locations in Featherston were impacted by outages. Local crews were on high alert, and quickly responded to both outages working through the night to get water restored to the impacted properties just after midnight.
Following a major outage such as Friday’s interruption, bringing the network back online can introduce extra stress on the pipes. We manage the pressure carefully to minimise this risk, but unfortunately breaks and bursts can still occur, particularly in older pipes.

WATER OUTAGE – BELL ST & BOAR BUSH GULLY RD, FEATHERSTON
As we have been working to restore water supply at a few key properties in the network, we have experienced two mains breaks, one at Boar Bush Gully Road affecting 3 properties and another on Bell Street, affecting 30 properties.
Crews are onsite at both locations and are hoping to restore water as soon as possible. Estimated time for repair at Bell St is 3 hours. We have relocated the static tanker from Fox Street to Bell Street, which will be in place until 8pm. Boar Bush Gully Road has not yet got an estimated time of repair.
Bringing the network back online can introduce extra stress on the pipes. We manage the pressure carefully to minimise this risk, but unfortunately breaks and burst can still occur where pipes are particularly weak.
