Ute's mysterious ticking sound leads to $7000 bill for frustrated owner
A ute owner spent more than $7000 as he desperately tried to identify a mysterious ticking sound coming from its engine.
The situation prompted Samuel Dredge to take Performance Cars Dunedin to the Motor Vehicles Disputes Tribunal.
Dredge had purchased a 2012 Mitsubishi Triton Charger from the retailer, but within fortnight he began to hear a faint ticking noise from its engine.
