Free compostable poo bags offered to Dunedin dog owners
Sit! Rollover! And now there's a new instruction for dogs and their owners – compost.
Registered Dunedin owners will be offered six free rolls of biodegradable dog poo bags as part of trial understood to be the first of its kind in New Zealand.
The move was prompted by the phasing-out of single use plastic shopping bags from July 1, Dunedin City Council compliance solutions manager Ros MacGill said.
