New Zealand's thirst city: A guide to Dunedin's breweries
Wellington might be known as the craft beer capital, but Dunedin was brewing before it was cool.
The southern city is synonymous with Speight’s, the oldest working brewery in New Zealand, established in 1876. Then in 1992, a local man named Richard Emerson started another brewery that would be one of the forerunners of the craft beer scene, redefining brewing in this country.
Several more have since joined them, from tiny taprooms down inner-city alleys, to cellar doors in the suburbs. Click here for a guide to Dunedin’s breweries. What's your favourite local brewer? Tell us in the comments below.
