Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & New Year.

We had time in Southland with my partner's Mum where we enjoyed good food, wine, company, dog walks on the beautiful Estuary Boardwalk & relaxation.

We then drove up to Bannockburn where I caught up with my family for Christmas & my partner hung out with more of her family & shared some special time sprinkling her recently passed Stepdad's ashes.

We both enjoyed a night on my brother's vineyard (check it out here www.calvertvineyard.co.nz...) in 5 star airbnb accomodation - great company, wine & food. After a lovely lunch we drove back to Dunedin & enjoyed further relaxing, sunny days reading in the garden.

Our level of inquiry for new opportunities has increased markedly as the effects of the recent lockdown become more apparent impacting traditional businesses & jobs alike. We feel so grateful to be running our online business from home. In times of crisis / great change Personal Development & Success Mindset Coaching becomes more sought after. It has been our delight to be here offering something else to those that find themselves out of income.

There’s no doubt that Wānaka’s iconic Roy’s Peak Track is worth the attention it receives on Instagram, but tackle this 5-6 hour track instead and you’ll be able to capture those magical alpine vistas, without having to queue up at the summit.

You’ll start out following Stewart Creek, then climb uphill and eventually reach a ridge. The undulating terrain and steep sections can be tough, but you’ll forget how tired you are when you glimpse those sweet views of Lake Wānaka, Lake Hāwea and the Southern Alps.

Getting there: The track start is just off the SH6 about a half-hour drive from Wānaka.

Want more? The Queenstown Hill walk is a local favourite, with stunning alpine views and a trail that can be completed in a few hours.

Cycling Action Network spokesman Patrick Morgan said biking had boomed in popularity since New Zealand went into lockdown in March, causing a bicycle shortage. Many of those buying bikes and e-bikes were older people rediscovering the hobby, he said.

Bike trainer and e-bike specialist Megan Page said one of the best things new cyclists and those returning to cycling could do was to train with a qualified Bike Ready instructor.

Hi everyone,
With Christmas fast approaching, we'd be keen to hear from those who spend the festive season (or part of it) away each year. Where do you go and why? What makes it such a great place to be at this time of year? What are you most looking forward to about the trip? Any words of advice you may have on things to do or places to eat or drink in the area would also be much appreciated. As usual, please put 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it included in a travel article. Cheers.
