Iconic music venue to close after alleged water bill stoush
A popular live music venue has closed after a dispute over a leaking urinal led to a stoush between the tenant and landlord.
Dive owner Michael McLeod confirmed in a statement to Stuff the closure of the live music venue, which he had operated for nearly 6 years, after a series of disputes with his landlord.
The landlord, Chris James, did not respond to a request for comment.
It appears a major sticking point between the parties was a $7000 water rates’ bill, which McLeod claims was seven times the usual annual amount.
