Passed away on January 8, 2023, in her 90th year. Daughter of the late Julius and Alice Geddes, and loved wife of the late Lancelot Monson, mother and mother-in-law of Gary, Robyn, Steven and Sue. A loved grandmother of Alex and Simon, Mark and Ryan and great-grandmother. A much-loved sister and sister-in-law of Helen Coutts (twin), Verna Schonewille, Thelma Geddes and the late Alan, Bert, Bill, Graeme and Shona. PERIGO, Leomay (Baba)
Of Feilding, and latterly of Julia Wallace Retirement Village, Palmerston North. The most extraordinary person that was Baba passed away on Boxing day in Palmerston North Hospital, aged 92. She suffered a stroke 10 days prior in her much loved apartment at Julia Wallace. Loved wife of George (dec 2000). Special mum, nana, great-nana, aunty, and friend. A strong willed, independent, physically and mentally fit amazing person until her stroke. A swimmer, baby bootie knitter, fundraiser, organiser, secretary, coach and many other things throughout her 92 years. As per her strong desire she has been privately cremated with no fuss or BS. We thank the team of devoted people at Palmerston North Hospital A&E, Ward 26 and STAR 2 for their care of Baba and her family throughout the 10 distressing days of her illness and passing. On January 6, 2023 Nancy passed away in the
Friendlies Hospital, Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia in the company of her family. In her 73rd year Nancy was the loved and admired wife of Brian, mother and mother-in-law of Louise O’Brien and Allen Keogh (Wellington), Mark and Mairead O’Brien (Sydney), and Kerryn and Brendan Bold (Palmerston North). Loved grandmother of Lottie and Silas, Thomas and Conor, Brianna and Olivia. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Judith and Ian Simpson.
A funeral service was held
in the chapel of Des Allen and Co, Bundaberg, followed by cremation at Springfield Gardens. Nancy’s ashes
will be brought back to New Zealand and she will be laid
to rest in Christchurch, the city of her birth.
