It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Marie, who passed away at home on February 17, 2023, aged 70 years. Daughter of the late Vera and Bill, sister and sister-in-law of Myra and Richard, Patricia, Richard, John and Margaret, Judith, Gary (deceased), Heather, and the late Steven, Wayne, and Graham and a loved aunt to all her nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Marie’s caregiver Margaret Gempton (Our Angel). For those attending, a colourful flower to be placed on Marie’s casket would be appreciated. A Celebration of Marie’s life will be held at South West Baptist Church, 244 Lyttelton Street, Spreydon, on Friday, February 24, at 11.00am, with a private cremation to follow.

(late of Auckland) Died at Woodlands Palmerston North on 17 February 2023. Father of Alan (Horseman’s Cafè, Shannon). Active uncle of Terry (deceased), Graeme and Brent McCarty (all of Auckland). Long time friend of Lorna King. At Michael’s request a cremation has taken place.

Aged 93, died peacefully at Christchurch Hospital in the company of her family after a brief illness. Loved wife of the late John Richard, loved mother of the late Paul and Bede, loved mother and mother-in-law to Rosemary and Paul, Christine and Neil, John and Kiko. Beloved and precious Granny to her grandchildren Wendy, Jennifer, Sarah, David, Metua, David (DJ) and Cameron, and Nana to Lucy, Anna and Mouraad. Loved Great-Granny to the Alexander, Chapman, Assen, Lyons, Gallagher, Brooks and Comins children.

Passed away peacefully at home on 17th February 2023. Dearly loved husband of the late Leonarda (Lea). Loved father of Paul, Henri and Anthony, and father in-law of Kathryn, Ilene and Rochelle. Cherished Opa to Monique, Beatrix and Isobel and great-Opa to Oskar and the late Emily. A vigil service will be held at 5.00pm on Thursday 24th February and a Requiem Mass at 1.00pm on Friday 25th February, both at Sacred Heart Church, 425 Heretaunga Street East, Hastings.

Passed away peacefully on Friday 17 February 2023, at Crofton Downs Care Home. Dearly loved wife of the late John Verran. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Mark and Diane, Max and Janice, Jan and Mike, Clare and Albie, Rhys and Kathy. Cherished grandmother of her 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Harbourview Rest Home, Porirua and Crofton Downs Care Home for the wonderful care of Daphne and the support of her family, especially during the last week. Passed away with family by his side after a courageous battle on Saturday 18 February 2023 at Logan Hospital, Brisbane. Aged 69. Dearly loved son of Eva and Ken (deceased), much loved brother of Dallas and long time friend of Colleen and family. A valued member of the New Plymouth Hot Rod Club. Treasured and much loved wife of Bill, loving and devoted mother to Will, Sarah and Jenny. Mother-in-law to Sarah, Brett and Ross. Loved sister of Judith, Debbie-Lee, Gary and Lynette. Loved grandma to Freddie, Jed, Jack, Benjamin, Danielle, Isaac, Sophie and Emily. The family appreciated the exceptional care Susan received at Dianna Isaac Retirement Home.
