HIKAKA, Wairehu
The Taranaki Branch of the Zealand Dental Association acknowledges the sad passing of our former colleague and member, Dr Wairehu Hikaka. Wairehu (Hik) qualified in Dentistry at the University of Otago in 1963. He returned home to Taranaki and practiced in Waitara until his retirement some 50 years later. He was renowned for his commitment to his patients and dedication to his staff. We give our heartfelt sympathies to his family.

Lyn passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family, after a short illness. Dearly loved wife of Garry, and cherished mother of Tony, and Duncan and their families. Special thanks to the Nelson Tasman Hospice and the chemotherapy nurses who cared for Lyn during her treatment. A private cremation service has been held.

Loving partner and companion of Irene Black for 32 years, father of Craig, Sally and their families (Westport), a dear friend of Dot and Cocoa, and Irene’s family. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Ken (Mossburn), *Patricia McBride, *John and *Margaret, *Kit and *Dave Harraway, *Jim and *Val, and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews.
