McBRIDE, Desmond Frederick (Des)

Peacefully after a short illness on May 10, 2023, at Clutha Views Lifecare, Balclutha, with his girls at his side; in his 86th year. Loving partner and companion of Irene Black for 32 years, father of Craig, Sally and their families (Westport), a dear friend of Dot and Cocoa, and Irene’s family. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Ken (Mossburn), *Patricia McBride, *John and *Margaret, *Kit and *Dave Harraway, *Jim and *Val, and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Loved second Dad to the Anderson and McBeath families (Wyndham and Edendale). Many thanks to Dr Abraham Visagie, Access, Clutha Health First and Clutha Views Lifecare for your care given to Des, especially Dot for her 9 years caring for Des. A dear friend, a companion, you will be missed by many.

We will meet again one day on the highway. R.I.P. At Des’ request a private cremation has been held. A Memorial service for Des will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 1.30pm, in the Clutha District RSA, 85 Clyde Street, Balclutha.
