Consultation on public places bylaw closes soon
Our new bylaws for public spaces will include rules about signage, outdoor dining, horses on beaches, market stalls and cycling through the city-centre. If you think anything needs to change with these topics (or parking on grass berms, begging, or taking souvenirs from the beach), or anything else about what you can do in public places, now is the time to have your say!

This consultation closes on Sunday 18 January 2026.
Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕
Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!
Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
