Residents enjoyed a day full of activities, food and entertainment and raised a record amount of $7,000 for their school.

Hundreds of people attend the Matakana School Gala over the long weekend.
Cars were backed up waiting sometimes up to 30 minutes to get to the event which has been running for more than 20 years.
The day was full of entertainment, food, stalls, games and rides.
