Council’s Animal Shelter takes in 500 dogs per year, so if you are looking for a new family member (of the four-legged, furry kind) why not give the shelter a call?

We encourage people to ‘adopt before you shop’ and go and visit to find dogs that really deserve a second chance.

Road to close for Whau Valley harvest

Public access to Whau Valley Dam will be closed for up to six weeks as pines are harvested.

Because the dam is a popular scenic site, a thorough post-harvest clean-up will take place to remove any leftover wood and debris once the logging is complete.
