Trafford St Off license Hearing

Aaron Campbell - Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Board

Hi everyone,
First things first- the decision has been reserved by the committee but hope to have it in a couple of weeks.
I'd like to thank all of you that expressed an opinion on the proposal in the various ways both to the Community Board initially last year, signed the petition and over the last two days many attended the District Licensing Committee hearing at the Fendalton Library.
There were about 45-50 members of the public there the first morning for opening statements and 30 there this morning, amazingly 15 saw it through to the end. I agree many more would have come but circumstances prevented that from happening but take heart that the numbers attending and those who made record of their objections were thorough in their presentations- this was acknowledged by the Chairperson in closing.
It was my pleasure to represent the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood board at the hearing and I appreciate the work both my governance team did in preparation and members of the three reporting agencies (District licensing, NZ Police and Medical Officer of Health) for their important roles they perform in our community.
Regards, Aaron
