New, bigger supermarket for Sumner as FreshChoice takes over
Sumner’s SuperValue supermarket is being redeveloped and will reopen next year more than twice the size.
Construction is under way on a new building on Nayland St next to the supermarket, which is part of the Sumner Mall on the corner of Wakefield Ave.
The existing supermarket premises and adjacent Bottle-O liquor store will eventually be upgraded and merged into the new building going up next door.
The new L-shaped supermarket will be rebranded as FreshChoice.
