Concert cap, 11pm curfew mooted as noise control for new Christchurch stadium
The $473 million, 25,000 seat covered arena, which will be able to hold up to 36,000 people for concerts, is to be built by the end of 2024 on a central city site, bordered by Cashel, Tuam, Madras and Barbadoes streets.
Proposed changes would introduce a limit of 15 concerts per year, and require those concerts to ending by 11pm, except on New Year's Eve, when they could end at 12.30am on New Year's Day.
