Bevis, a resident at Ryman’s Anthony Wilding Village, recently received a gentleman’s makeover. The day began at the barbershop where Bevis and his barber Kohl shared plenty of laughs. Next up, a personal stylist helped Bevis select clothes he looked and felt great in. Being pampered isn’t the norm for Bevis but based on his smile, we’re confident he loved every minute.

Hi team! Thank you so much for your support of First Rung, our first podcast!
The launch last week went even better than we'd hoped. I'm over the moon.
I thought I'd drop by to let you know this week's episode, Location, Location, Location, is out now.
Just like the first one, it's packed with tips, advice and anecdotes from experts and home owners on every aspect of buying your first home. It also comes with a chance to win a $500 Resene prize pack.
In episode 2, we talk to a first time buyer who moved from one end of the country to the other for a chance to get on the ladder, hear about apartments as a viable first home option and an expert gives us some tips on how to choose the right lawyer.
We all know buying a home is one of the toughest, most daunting things we might ever do as adults, so it doesn't hurt to get some expert advice and support. That's what we wanted to give you with First Rung.
Give episode 2 a listen and let us know what you think - and I hope you're all in to win that crackin' prize pack!

Christchurch City Council wants local views on the draft plan for the new Sumner skate park on Nayland St that will cater to beginners and intermediate-level skaters and feature a “skateable art” quarter pipe in a wave design to reflect the beach environment.

Strong community support led to the decision on the skate park site in December 2018.

Council also wants feedback on the design for the proposed village green, which includes picnic tables, seating and a double barbecue.

People can learn more about the two-part project at sessions with council staff on Thursday, October 15 at 6.30pm or Sunday, October 18 between 2pm-4pm at Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre.

They can then provide feedback via the Have Your Say webpage on the council's website or complete and submit a feedback form by 5pm on Monday, November 9.

A Bromley Odour Forum will be held on Thursday October 15 at the Bromley Community Centre.

The Forum will have two sessions – from 1.00pm to 2.30pm, and 7.00pm to 9.30pm, with refreshments available.

Environment Canterbury and the Christchurch City Council continue to work to address odour issues in Bromley, and the forum will be an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the Adaptive Management Plan process, and progress so far.

Industries present in Bromley will have the opportunity to update the community on what they are doing to manage and mitigate odour their operations may generate.
