Citizens Advice Bureau Christchurch Area is holding it's 2020 Annual General Meeting at 10 am on the 28th of August. It is being held at Christchurch North Methodist Church on Harewood road. Our guest speaker is Tony McNeill (Relationship Manager, MBIE Settlement Team within Immigration NZ.) Members of the public are welcome to attend .
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
