Getting inside my place to eat my cats' food. To begin with she was timid. But now very friendly, hissing at my cats. I do understand cat food is extremely expensive. If the owner is unable to feed the cat, please surrender her to a shelter please. Poor cat sitting in the cold, rain & wind on the damp ground until I open my door to enter. sometimes she's been soggy wet. If she is yours, please keep her inside. Some neighbours had thought she is mine and have asked me to keep her inside as she uses mine and their gardens as her toilet. I've asked them to complain to SPCA as she is not mine. For the sake of the welfare of the cat, I am posting here as they could harm your precious fur baby. Thanks

Now I am back & the cat began to come to my door meowing. Could not let him go without feeding him. To begin with he was timid, then he gave up & let me catch him & bring him inside in this cold weather. His fur is matted, filled with dandruff from head to tail. First few weeks he ate dry food too. Later noticed that he is having severe dental issues. He was smelly like a sewer & fur was brown. Now that smell is disappeared. But his mouth is very smelly. No microchip, unneutered beautiful cat. Will be euthanized at the vet if no one claims him before the end of this week.

Last month, council staff replaced a vehicle lane on Park Tce with a cycleway. The work was done under temporary traffic management rules and sparked outrage amongst some councillors and mayor Phil Mauger, who accused council staff of “running amok”. Other councillors accused staff of being “sneaky”.
Cyclists, wearing hi-vis clothing and helmets, filled the Christchurch City Council’s public gallery on Wednesday, holding signs pleading with the council to keep the cycleway in place.
Their views were heard by the majority of the council, which voted 10-6 against councillor James Gough’s bid to immediately rip up the cycleway.

June is upon us, so it's well and truly time to hunker down for the colder temperatures. For some across Aotearoa, this just means a second duvet on the bed. And for others, it's defrosting your car windscreen daily and bringing out the heaters.

Our next pups are coming mid July.
Puppy raisers are an integral part of our organisation. Their job is an amazing one: to support our little ones on their journey towards becoming superheroes!
To become a puppy-raiser, you must:
- Have a fully fenced and secure property
- Have time to spend socialising and exercising your puppy.
- Be available to meet for puppy development training.
Our puppies stay with their raiser until they are about 16-18 months of age, then return to Assistance Dogs to be formally trained for their future roles. We cover the cost of feeding and vet care, and there is a supervisor available for all of our dogs.
