Belinda Carter from St Albans Residents Association (SARA) Inc

The community boards have taken on board community concerns about DEMP and while they want stage 1 to go ahead they also want the road project to be delayed so more measures can be put in place to reduce vehicle traffic before the northern corridor opens.

Poll: Is it time to raise New Zealand's superannuation age?

Stacey Reporter from Stuff

Outgoing Retirement Commissioner Diane Maxwell has been outspoken about the need to increase the pension age from 65.

"You used to get super for five years, then 10 and now 20 - soon it'll be 30. I'm not sure how we can fund people getting super for 30 years or more."

"You used to get super for five years, then 10 and now 20 - soon it'll be 30. I'm not sure how we can fund people getting super for 30 years or more."

New Zealand has one of the simplest pension schemes in the world - all you have to do is be old enough and have lived in the country long enough and you can get it.

But that also makes it expensive - about $14.5 billion this year. Jobseeker benefits, by comparison, cost just $1.7b and sole parent support $1.08b.

Black or Black Brown Cat clearly a pet hungry for food at Caledonian Rd St Albans

He has a beautiful dark, maybe black or very dark brown coat and is in great condition and affectionate. I can't tell if he lives in the "hood", sleeps all day and comes out at night for a midnight snack (because his family watch his food intake) or if he is lost. He has green eyes and a gentle mrow and likes to picked up and held. So, clearly he is not a stray. He hopped onto my bed last night & my cat didn't really mind so I think they have become mates. He has been visiting at nights for about a month. I usually leave biscuits outside for him but he really likes the special expensive ones I keep inside and cried last night because I didn't feed him. He is terribly smart and follows my cat inside at night knowing that Uber Eats will be arriving any moment. He also knows the biscuits are in the pantry and last night ran around the kitchen wanting me to get the biscuits for him, while my cat just sat and watched the circus. I am happy to feed him but his family may not want him getting extra food. He looks like he weighs approx 5 ks and is fairly young - maybe 3? He looks a bit like the missing cat Marlow from St Albans who's pic was posted 71 days ago. I can't find a link to Marlow's family so the page must have expired. I don't know if he was ever found...
Any suggestions welcome

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) chairman Brent Impey has revealed the Crusaders will be keeping their name in 2020 after calls to change it in the wake of the Christchurch shootings on March 15.

The Crusaders name debate has been hotly disputed after the terrorist attack in Christchurch, where 51 people were killed after a gunman opened fire on Muslim worshippers in two mosques in the city.

The name-change pressure emerged because of the centuries-old sensitivity over the history of the Crusades, which were bloody medieval conflicts between Muslims and Christians.

Motorists will soon have to pay $15 to park all day in a city council-owned central Christchurch parking building.

The Christchurch City Council decided to increase the price from $10 to $15 citing the Christchurch Hospital park-and-ride operating from the parking building and new shops and businesses opening nearby.

"There is now high demand for short stay parking and the Lichfield St parking building regularly nears capacity," it said.

The new charge will start on July 1. The council said it hoped charging more would free up more short stay parking spaces.

The Lichfield St car park building has 805 parks and initially ran below capacity.
