Just wondering why?...
I'm just wondering why, one of my neighbours has just called parking enforcement to tell them that the reggo was out on my car after it was parked on the road for 4 mins today rather than on my drive (literally 4 mins, I pulled off so my husband could take his van off the drive).
I'm wondering why that neighbour didn't just knock on my door to tell me or leave a note in my mail box? To help me out rather than hurt me with a $200 infringement notice that I received.
I'm just wondering if that neighbour knows that I am an independent midwife and that $200 is 14 weeks of antenatal care for one woman (yes really, that what midwives get paid). I'm wondering if they know that I am continuously on call for 100 hrs per week so I didn't see that my reggo was out - I'm usually pretty good but hadn't received a notice as it turns out my car was accidentally registered by the powers that be to no. 29 not 26 Rayburn which is where I live.
I'm wondering if that neighbour knows that I'm the neighbour that diligently picks up litter on the street when I walk my dog, that drives the Council mad with Snap, Send, Solve to move abandoned trolleys, empty overflowing bins, remove dumped mattresses and clear the leaves when the drains can't cope so that our street and neighbourhood continues to looks nice.
I'm wondering if they know that I'm the neighbour that will move your bins in off the street if they've been left out more than a day in case you're away so it doesn't leave you exposed to potential crime. I'll put your paper in a little further so you don't have to be out on the street in your P.J's. especially if its raining.
I'm just wondering if that neighbour knows it really matters to me that they didn't take the time to be a good neighbour to me.

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? π»π¨π
In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?
What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?
-
37.8% The sting of a fine (Money talks!)
-
62.2% The threat of demerit points (Nobody wants to lose their license!)
Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, weβre a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature β and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
π Riddle me this, legends! π
He/She who makes it, sells it.
He/She who buys it, doesn't use it.
The user doesn't know they are using it.
What is it?
(Shezz from NgΔruawΔhia kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Shezz!)
