We already have two cats so he is not too worried by other cats and actually came through the cat door the other night so not at all scared although shoot back through. If you know who he is, may have just moved into the area or someone that may have lost this lovely young cat please get back to me asap. Maree

Raised garden beds are ideal for the family to grow your own vegetables or other plants and there are many benefits in using them including
- extending the planting season significantly as the beds will warm faster and hold the warmth
- allowing better drainage
- as the gardener doesn’t walk on the garden bed, the soil doesn’t become compacted
- the soil will remain light and loose allowing it to hold more air helping the vegetable roots to grow with less effort
- ability to reduce the number of weeds
- if using close plant spacing your raised vegetable garden bed will create a micro-climate which will contain moisture and further discourage weeds.
Fill with compost, mulch, good soil and fertilzer mix.
If you are looking for a raised garden bed or planter box drop me a message or give me a call

Did you hear a "sonic boom" and see an object flying across the Canterbury sky? Many residents witnessed a suspected meteor this week.
The burning rock was at least the size of a fist – much larger than what astronomers usually see above New Zealand. Usually the objects are about the size of a grain of sand.
The arrival of a meteor can be impressive, with even something pebble-sized lighting up in the sky, Canterbury Astronomical Society president Euan Mason says.
So what did you think of the meteor? Where were you when you saw it? And do you see them often from your place? Let us know in the replies!

She has represented Archery New Zealand at international competitions over the years. In April this year she won the female cadet recurve target event and the division 1 female recurve matchplay at Trans Tasman in Morwell, Australia. Bex followed this up in July by winning the female cadet recurve target event, the Oceania Commonwealth Championship female recurve and the Continental Qualifying Tournament at Oceania Championships in New Caledonia.
Now is Bex's time as she continues to excel in achieving top results whilst representing New Zealand on the international stage. She has both short and long term goals to represent New Zealand.
The web link, on the right, provides a detailed account of some of the highlights she has achieved this year alone.
Bex has put a lot of hard work into her training over the last few years and this is now paying off with her dreams of representing New Zealand becoming a reality. This page has been set up for anyone wishing to support Bex as she continues to chase her dreams.
Funds raised will be used for travel to international competitions, airfares, accommodation and entry fees.
