Christchurch's roofed 25,000-seat stadium could be ready within five years but the pressure is now on to get it planned and built right.

The city council's long-awaited investment case says a 25,000 seat mostly clear-roofed facility is the best fit for the city, and could be built within the budgeted $473 million, including running costs. Temporary seating was not included but could be added later.

The chosen option would cost $472.7m to build and $485.3m to run over 25 years, of which $343m would be funded by stadium income, with an annual $4.2m council top-up.

Come and get the compost

Heidi from Bryndwr

We are needing to move house as where we live is being sold. So a big clean up is happening. This compost needs to go, but the bin not. A lot of bananas went in here, so pretty good stuff. The bottom is nicely composted, but the tip needs a few more weeks.

I immediately looked into this for alternatives to chemo. As didn’t want to put her thru this as I understand there is no cure regardless, anyway I thought I would tell everyone the treatment I have procured from researching what’s available in NZ. I had a phone consult. With Dr Liza Holistic Vets in Tauranga, my wonderful Vet Tim from Papanui Merivale Vets was on board and sent her records thru. I was very interested in the study done in Pennsylvania with mushrooms various types turkey tail etc. and this is what Dr Liza from Holistic Vets in Tauranga has recommended which is available thru them. Lucie has had delivered for her treatment a 5 combo. mushroom pills and Coriolus mushroom drops and a immune booster ..My beau (avail, at animates) Dr Liza said she has had dogs that have lived over a year with this prognosis.
Lucie has had her spleen out with tumour incl. which was when this was all diagnosed, she has recovered well and is back to her old self, playing, walking, eating well, etc. long may it continue she seems to tolerate the new more holistic approach very well...long may it last. We are under no illusions as to the final outcome but every good day is a wonderful day with Lucie. (Highly recommend having dogs insured I use Southern Cross] Dogs leave paw prints in our ♥️ hearts..so very true.
See below info.
PHILADELPHIA — Dogs with hemangiosarcoma that were treated with a compound derived from the Coriolus versicolor mushroom had the longest survival times ever reported for dogs with the disease. These promising findings offer hope that the compound may one day offer cancer patients — human and canine alike — a viable alternative or complementary treatment to traditional chemotherapies. MERRY XMAS EVERYONE 😎😎
