The body was no longer flat and the blade soft an very tired before we restored it.
We built up the blade with a hard facing TIG filler rod forming a very durable tool steel cutting edge. All sides of the body were then sanded, squared up and made flat before a nice coat of oil was applied.
We love doing this kind of work and could do the same for you.
Have a great day.
Cheers

People near the coast should expect to hear tsunami sirens sounds for up to two minutes at 11am on Sunday.
“People shouldn’t be alarmed to hear the sirens going off and don’t need to evacuate," Christchurch City Council
acting head of Civil Defence and Emergency Management Rebecca Newton says.
"The testing of the sirens though is a good reminder to people in coastal and riverside areas that they should have an evacuation plan in place so that everyone in the family knows what to do and where to go if there is a tsunami evacuation.
“While we are likely to get advanced warning of a distance-source tsunami triggered by a large earthquake overseas, if a tsunami is triggered by a very large earthquake closer to New Zealand people may need to evacuate quickly so they should have an emergency bag at the ready."
In the event of a local or regional source tsunami, there may not be enough time to activate the warning sirens. In those circumstances, the most important warning is the earthquake itself, which is why people are encouraged to adhere to the national tsunami message – ‘Long or strong, get gone’, Newton says.
People can check Christchurch City Council's interactive online map to find out if by they live or work in a tsunami evacuation zone.

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your supportive comments. The paper collar worked, and his owner texted me. I got the impression the owner may now be on the path to getting him neutered. Shame in a way as I may not be visited by him again, but on the other hand it's much better for him.

Hello. This tom cat has been calling to see me for a feed for the last three annual cat mating seasons, then he disappears again. (I don't have an non-neutered female to engage his interest.) The first time he was about a year old, bigger in the second year, and this year he is fully grown. He's reasonably socialised, and will walk into the kitchen like a boss when I open the door. Last weekend I saw him on the front lawn of a house in Smith Street down near Linwood Park, but he may have been stalking a bird rather than relaxing at home.
Does anyone recognize him? I'm weighing up whether to properly adopt him, have him vet checked and neutered, etc, but don't want to steal him away from someone else if he does have an owner. Please reply to this message to contact me.

When 80-year-old Barry Souter landed his first job in a clothing store 64 years ago, the retail industry looked a lot different.
Customers were not able to browse the shelves but had to ask for clothes to be brought out from behind the counter. When a sale was made, Souter had to handwrite the sale docket. And stock-taking was very much a manual task.
But through all the changes, Souter has never stopped having fun. “It’s the people that make it. Human interaction is what keeps us all going.”
Souter’s first job was at Hallensteins in Dunedin when he was 16, and he worked for Munns in Christchurch for a long time before opening his own business in Bishopdale nearly a decade ago.

The Respiratory Relief Society was formed by a group of physiotherapists who saw a need for people with lung conditions to undertake gentle exercises and learn how to self-manage their breathing conditions. They are still running today, so if you are someone or you know someone who might benefit from their activities, give them a ring.
