Protection order on Christchurch aquifers could limit drinking water supply
A move to protect Christchurch's aquifers from the bottling industry could inadvertently cap water supply for residents.
The city council is investigating the possibility of safeguarding its aquifers by applying to the Government for a water conservation order.
If granted, such an order could limit the ways in which businesses and individuals take and use water in the future.
