A general warning about cans.
I don't know about you but we store cans upright so you can read the label. And tend to open them the same way (we have a wall mounted can opener). Until some smart genius (probably to save 0.01 cents per can) decided to offset inwards the top sealing crimp. You try and save the juice when you have punctured the top lid, then have to invert the can to be able to open it. So the story is the cans MUST be opened from the BOTTOM lid otherwise all can openers will fail. Modern times ! I bet that the offset rim costs less than providing the pull seal showing up on a lot of cans now so the design is pointless. Unless same smart genius has shares in some can opener company ? It was a can of peaches from Woolworths.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
