Raspberry Canes & Black Currant Plants
black currant plants $8 each
raspberry canes, medium sized, $7 each all with excellent established root systems.
Black currants & raspberry canes prefer a location with moist well drained soil and will thrive in a position where it is protected from the hot afternoon sun. I grow my raspberries and black currants under the dappled shade of trees - in nature they feature as part of the under canopy vegetation. Both fruits can tolerate frost and drought. Put them in and let them battle it out. They are extremely hardy and require minimal work after planting. Homemade raspberry jam is amazing; minus gums, preservatives and artificial sugar alternatives frequently found in store bought jams.

NZ blackcurrants contain high levels of anthocyanin. The combination of New Zealand’s pristine environment, unpolluted air, high ultraviolet light intensity, and specially bred varieties results in our berries having some of the highest anthocyanin levels in the world.
