For some, it's a chance for an epic Easter egg hunt and for others, it may be a trip to church. For some, it might just be a few days of sleeping in.
We'd love to know, how do YOU mark Easter each year?

From an early age I knew I was different with food. I only have one sibling, a brother, and we were brought up just the same, but I could tell I was very different from him with food.
When we were given lollies, I would eat mine straight away. He would put his in his bedroom drawer and make them last, until eventually they would drive me crazy and I would have to eat them too!

Here at The Doctors we would love to hear how you prefer to book your doctor’s appointments. With busy schedules, different people find different methods easier.
For some, online booking is very convenient, you can make an appointment anytime without needing to wait on the phone. Others still prefer calling the clinic and speaking to a real person, especially if they have specific questions about their visit.
Your feedback helps us understand what works best for our patients and how we can improve access to care.

Recently, a Bypass Plan has been proposed as a potential solution - this involves pumping sewage into the sea. However, official technical, scientific, and environmental reports on this plan and how it may impact the Canterbury region aren't finished yet.
Before we get the final word from the consultants, we want to know what the community thinks about the allocation of rates and resources.
We want to know: Should the city invest money into researching the new Bypass Plan, or should we prioritise fixing and upgrading the existing infrastructure?

If the drizzle has you feeling soggy, come dry off at the Hornby Club!
We’ve got a roof, chairs, and some very important chat.
When: 2:00 PM – Sunday, 29th March (Today!)
Where: Hornby Club, Carmen Road
Special Guest: Councillor Sam McDonald
Sam is the Chairperson of the CCC Finance & Performance Committee, and he’s here to talk about the 2026 Annual Plan. It’s your chance to hear where the money is going—and maybe ask why it’s not going toward a giant sun-lamp for Hornby on days like this. ☀️
All residents are welcome. Come for the info, stay for the community spirit (and the fact that you don't have to mow the lawn in the drizzle).
