City assets for sale at a roll of the dice

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from The Press

Hi Neighbours,
The meandering Avon River could be all yours, ducks and all. Or you could earn your fortune building a row of hotels on Hagley Park. Perhaps you’d rather take a chance at the casino, or buy up Christchurch Airport so you can park for free.

But this is not any asset sell-up the city council might be considering.
This is just for fun.

The well-known Christchurch spots are among those displayed on the city's very own colourful version of Monopoly, launched on Wednesday, in plenty of time for Christmas shopping.

Read the full story by reporter Liz McDonald here (subscription required) and tell us in the comments below if you agree with the Christchurch picks or what places you'd prefer to see on the board.

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? πŸ›»πŸš¨πŸš“

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

Addictive Eaters Anonymous

The Team from Addictive Eaters Anonymous - Christchurch

How much does it cost to join AEA?

There are no dues or fees for joining AEA or attending AEA meetings. We are self-supporting through our own voluntary contributions. At some point during each meeting we pass the basket to help cover expenses, such as the cost of rent and literature. Members are not obliged to contribute, but we usually do so to the extent we are able.
