Christchurch stadium could cost almost $1 billion to build and operate
The cost of running Christchurch's long-awaited stadium may be as much as $450 million for the first 25 years of its life, equating to $1.5m a month.
But the city council expects revenue from the stadium to "largely offset these costs".
The stadium, still more than four years away from opening, could cost up to $520m to build, with construction expected to get under way in late 2020.
