Somerfield Park 'Our Community' Mural Final Paint /Picnic event

Julie Tobbell from Somerfield Residents Association

Our Somerfield community is very excited to paint a mural theme of "Our Community" on the Sports Pavilion back wall - designed by Somerfield School students last year (ages 6-7yrs). Well done for All their contributions & unfortunately we couldn't include ALL of the wonderful design entries!! However our designing team attempted to incorporate as many as able!
Today (Tuesday 20th Nov) after school we plan to get a photo of all the students who helped to create these selected designs. Hopefully they have all received the message for this - let me / them know if they feel they need to be a part of this also!!?!
We welcome anyone to join us for the community event on Sunday 2nd December -as per poster.
*Painting to start at 10am
*Free Sausage sizzle/ drinks & ice treats to be available by 12pm
*Family BYO picnics are encouraged
*Volunteers are most welcome on the day to help paint or to assist prior /after the event please!
*Any local entertainers / singers etc are welcome to apply to perform for our community! Do you know of someone who may like for this opportunity?? We love to keep it local & encourage any young talented people to paint / entertain our community!!
Please refer to our Facebook Event page for this on our SRA Facebook page for more details.
Many thanks to our local community project team who have helped me to coordinate the design & event process up to now:

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
